THE FIA PLAN
FIA is a tightly-knit community where students, staff, families and visitors immediately feel comfortable and included. The current high-school campus touches the shore of western Montego Bay in the St. James Parish, along the northern coastal highway. A quick mile east of the high-school campus is the beautiful, purpose-built prep campus which, over its 34 years, was developed around the curriculum to enhance the beauty and real-life context of learning for the young students and their staff. Both campuses are currently designed for the utmost safety and COVID compliance of protocols issued by Jamaica’s Ministry of Health and Wellness.
The campuses easily host school events, including Movie Night, college visits, Our PTSA (Parent teacher and Student Association) enjoys hosting events on either campus and actively encourages parents to become involved in the activities of our community. The current campuses support soccer, volleyball, swimming, SCUBA, standard ball sports, tennis, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and organic gardening etc.
The New Campus Committee of the FIA Board of Governors is actively working to complete paperwork, architectural plans, landscaping and design plans for its new 14-acre campus, at the intersection of Barnett Street and Fairfield Road, along the Barnett River in the township of Fairfield (Montego Bay). Once those steps have been completed a full communications release will inform the school and Montego Bay communities of the transition to the new, permanent campus.
Plans are being developed to meet the academic, athletic and extra-curricular needs of both campuses. Currently, a new athletic track and soccer field are being designed first at the new campus. These and all facilities innovations are designed to meet the needs of FIA’s international students, curricula and future tenets of The FIA Strategic Plan, which is being created and overseen by the FIA Board of Governors, in conjunction with the Head Principal and FIA’s staff.
